HISTORY

Direct Fruit Supplies (Leeds) Ltd was originally formed in 1957 and successfully wholesaled and retailed through to the 1980's when Peter Marcus took over. The direction changed and the business gradually moved to supplying the Hotel and Catering Sectors.

Direct Fruit Supplies (Leeds) Ltd now distribute throughout Yorkshire in fact, a 60-mile radius of Leeds, DFS are able to give a service second to none.

Produce

All our produce is purchased directly from growers, markets and importers. The range is expanding and our customers will verify that we are able to obtain fresh produce, delicatessen products and provide a back up service with dry goods through our links with cash and carries. In recent years DFS has added bread, milk, cheese and an extensive list of delicatessen items to its product list

Delivery & Service

Daily deliveries throughout Yorkshire and within a 60 mile radius of Leeds.

• Deliveries are made six days a week.
• Statements are sent each month end.
• Orders can be phoned, faxed or e-mailed the day before delivery is required. Specialist items may require longer.
• Prepared vegetables should be ordered by 11am the day before for the basic items and slightly earlier for chateau and parisienne potatoes.

Whilst most of the delicatessen items are in stock it would be advisable to remember we have deliveries of delicatessen items to ourselves on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which are ordered on the Friday and Tuesday before respectively.

Our emergency back-up delivery service, not only ensures your peace of mind, but as there is no surcharge for this service, displays our commitment to all our customers.

FUTURE

During DFS's growth, it has become fully computerised. All the delivery vans are modern, under 4 years old and are refrigerated. All staff are easily identified in their distinctive uniforms and are trained to be polite and helpful. DFS now buys 90% of its products directly to obtain the best quality and price.

Due to the above benefits and our extensive experience we believe our growth will come from customers in our area who demand quality and service at a competitive price.
